DDB's new Telstra managing partner

EXCLUSIVE: DDB’s managing partner of the Telstra team, Brent Annells, has left the Sydney office to join Facebook as head of telco, tech and entertainment.

Annells has been with DDB since 2007, first as managing director of Tribal DDB Melbourne and then from 2008 as head of the Telstra account.

Replacing Annells as managing partner of the Telstra business is MRM Worldwide’s former EVP director of strategy for New York and Princeton, Adam Donnelley (pictured).

“Adam brings with him a breadth of both local and international experience having worked on some great brands both here and in the US. His infectious passion for his work will be the perfect fit to our dedicated and award winning Telstra team,” Chris Brown, DDB Group Australia chief executive, said.

“We wish Brent all the best as he moves to work at Facebook – and we look forward to working with him in the future as a partner with our current clients.”

The DDB role marks a return to Australia for Donnelley who moved to the US in 2009. Before the move he was a member of the McCann Worldgroup Australia board with responsibility for MRM’s Sydney office.

Donnelley added: “I am thrilled to be joining DDB Australia. I have great admiration for DDB's creative reputation and progressive culture. The chance to work on one of Australia's most iconic brands, at such a dynamic time for both the advertising and telecommunications industry, is extremely exciting.”
