King Content Hires Former Weber Shandwick Strategy Director

King Content has appointed former Weber Shandwick (Chicago) strategy and planning director Penny Bartholomew to head up the strategic business unit in the Melbourne Office.

As head of strategy – Melbourne, Penny will be responsible for the strategic function of the office, which has a client roster that includes Bupa, ANZ, Monash University and Telstra.

With a core focus on data-driven content marketing strategy, King Content is investing in a market-leading client services team that ties client and consumer big data to content and execution models. Having directed award-winning digital programs in the US across multiple consumer touchpoints, Penny Bartholomew presented as another great leader for the Australian business.

Craig Hodges, CEO of King Content, said: “King Content is always on the hunt for quality people who have the same ambitions as the business. Penny’s strategic know-how and global experience are the perfect match for us as we continue to build our global content marketing offering. We’ve seen the results she achieved for her US clients and we know she’s going to do the same for ours here and overseas.”

Penny Bartholomew, head of strategy – Melbourne at King Content, said:”I’m thrilled to be joining King Content. The service offering is unrivalled and it’s even ahead of where many agencies in the US are right now. Clients love the water-tight approach, and with the best in the business driving it, it’s a win-win formula.”

Penny’s appointment follows a string of hires for King Content from local and international talent pools. In the past six months they’ve brought on former Mindshare (UK) social lead, Ruth Haffenden, and former head of content (moving image) for Red Bull UK, Christie Poulos, among others.
