Queerscreen announces new sponsor

Queerscreen Executives have announced they have a new sponsor for the 2014 Queerscreen Mardi Gras Film Festival, the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (LA Tourism).

LA is a hit tourist spot for Australians and one of the top destinations for LGBTI travellers and is also the home to Outfest, one of the longest running LGBT film festivals.

“We are delighted to be partnering with the world’s number one film city and the world’s longest running queer festival,” Paul Struthers, Queerscreen Festival Director, said.

The partnership was created and managed by Pink Media Group and Initiative where recent research shows the LGBTI community are equally as likely to travel domestically as internationally, according to Ben Mulcahy, managing director of Pink Media Group.

The 2014 Queerscreen Mardi Gras Film Festival runs from 13-23 February in Sydney next year.
