How Much Do Tech Companies Pay To Protect Their CEOs?

The big companies like Amazon and Oracle fork out a lot of cash in order to protect the big boss from any security threats at home or in the office. And Business Insider pulled apart the US Securities and Exchange Commission filings to find what it costs to protect some of the most powerful CEOs in tech.

From the lower end of the spectrum with Yahoo to shelling out millions to keep the CEO safe, BI examined the numbers from 2014 and 2015 proxy statements that companies issue at different times throughout the year.

Here’s what the world’s biggest tech companies are paying to protect their king hitters, for everything from the annual physical to home security:

  • Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer: $26,891
  • Intel executives: $51,600
  • Twitter CEOs Jack Dorsey and Dick Costolo: $111,930
  • Apple CEO Tim Cook: $209,151
  • Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt: $303,142
  • Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg: $610,454
