Women In Media Social Change Maker
Enduring daily threats against her life and her safety, Sherele uses these verbal attacks as a barometer of the impact she’s having on the scourge of physical attacks on women & and children in Australia. As an award winning senior News Corp journalist and child of a mortally violent step-father, Sherele saw too much indifference and not enough action being enacted to halt the male violence in Australia that kills hundreds of Australians a year.
Aiming to create a space that connects those opposed to male enacted violence and the cultures that enables it, the page shares survivor stories, provides aid for women and children in crisis and lobbies for changes in both government and the media world.
Doubling the reach of the page in the past 12 months, Sherele’s other major accomplishment of 2018 was erecting the first memorial to murdered women and children in Australia.
